Probably we are all looking forward to Apple and its innovations, which will bring in 2020. Next we can also look forward to the new iPhone 12 about which we have some expectations. In this article, you will learn when the release date could be expected, what its specifications, what kind of display might have, or whether it would support 5G network.
To date, we don’t know what the official name of the new Apple smartphone will be, so we will use the designation iPhone 12 in this article, which could be the successor to the iPhone 11 released last September. However, Apple hasn’t yet confirmed this name, so don’t take it as a coin in the future.

iPhone 12 could look similar to iPhone 11
A report from an unnamed vendor, published by Japanese journalist Mac Otakar, is quoted over the Internet, citing a Chinese vendor that the iPhone 12 will look similar to the iPhone 11. One of the differences is that the edges of the iPhone 12 will have slightly beveled edges. Otakara also describes that the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 will be 7.4mm thick.
According to Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, phones will be manufactured in metal frames from 2020, as was the case with the previous iPhone 4. Models will consist of a metal frame and a front and back glass on the body.
iPhone 12 Pro may have a model in dark blue
Last year, Apple introduced the midnight green color on its iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max. Sales of this model exceeded expectations and therefore we can assume that they will include this new color in the next generation of iPhones.
New iPhone 12 will have four different models
Rumors say that the new iPhone 12 will be in three different sizes.
According to JPMorgan analyst Samika Chetterjee, Apple will release four new iPhone 12 models in the fall of 2020. One 5.4-inch, two 6.1-inch and one 6.7-inch. All should have OLED displays.
iPhone and 5G connection
Most competing Apple companies have already incorporated new 5G technology in their smartphone models, which should bring an exponential increase in download and upload speeds. This technology should also dramatically reduce the latency between connections and the response of communications between multiple devices on the network.
Therefore, in connection with the new iPhone 12 in 2020, Apple should bring a new 5G connection to its devices.
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that all iPhone phones expected in 2020 will use 5G technology. All four iPhones will be equipped with Qualcomm X55 5G modem chip.
The X55 chip offers download speeds of up to 7Gb per second and upload speeds of up to 3Gb per second. However, these numbers will actually depend on the operator’s network itself. The chip is the first Qualcomm 5G chip to support all major frequency ranges.
The world of technology is moving fast forward every day, and it’s commonplace that each year the components become more perfect and in many cases smaller.
Samsung’s supplier, ITM Semiconductor, has created a new type of battery for smartphones that is up to 48% smaller than its predecessor, suggesting that like Samsung in its smartphone Samsung Galaxy S11, Apple could use this battery itself in its expected iPhones.
Expected release date
Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said he believes that all types of the new iPhone 12 should be released in September 2020 with full support for 5G networks.
Susquehanna, a second analyst of Apple, said that iPhones could come in two phases. Models supporting 5G networks below 6GHz could come as early as September 2020, but models with faster connections only sometime in January 2021.
IPhone 12 and Coronavirus (COVID-19)
As a result of the Coronavirus outbreak in China, Apple stopped engineers’ business trips to China in February this year. The engineers were dedicated to technical verification and development of new iPhones. This limitation could delay the release date. However, Apple is still expected to introduce its new smartphones in September this year, as analysts predict, but there may be a limit on the number of pieces available.
